About Me
I am a board-certified general adult psychiatrist providing services for adults ages eighteen and older.
I primarily practice psychotherapy with a psychodynamic focus. I have completed extensive training through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis and am a recipient of the Austen Riggs Excellence in Psychotherapy Award. That being said, I do take an eclectic approach when formulating individualized treatment plans unique to you, applying concepts from various forms of therapy and augmenting with medication when appropriate. Separately, I am able to provide medication management services alone, if desired.
My general areas of expertise include anxiety and panic, depression, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), relational conflict, life transitions, education and work-related stress, intergenerational conflict, and acculturation issues. I value working with people from all walks and stages of life.
In particular, born and raised in Palo Alto, I’m especially attuned to how cultural expectations, social and environmental stressors, professional challenges, and trauma—both past and present—shape the mental health and daily functioning of Bay Area natives and transplants. Additionally, I take interest in supporting young adults, new parents, early-career professionals, and graduate trainees as they navigate challenges including identity, independence, interdependence, and development both personally and professionally. As a former competitive athlete, I have also completed training in sports psychiatry through the International Society of Sports Psychiatry and am committed to addressing the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges faced by professional, collegiate, and recreational athletes.
