About Me
I am a board-certified general adult psychiatrist providing both psychotherapy and medication management services for adults ages eighteen and older.
I primarily practice psychotherapy with a psychodynamic focus. I have completed extensive training through the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis and am a recipient of the Austen Riggs Excellence in Psychotherapy Award. That being said, I do take an eclectic approach when formulating individualized treatment plans unique to you, applying concepts from various forms of therapy and augmenting with medication when appropriate. Separately, I have an extensive background in psychopharmacology and am able to provide medication management services alone, if desired.
My general areas of expertise include anxiety and panic, depression, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), insomnia, relational conflict, life transitions, education and work-related stress, and acculturation issues, among others.
My particular areas of interest include supporting young adults, early-career professionals, and graduate trainees as they navigate the challenges of identity, independence, and professional development. Born and raised in Palo Alto, I am also passionate about how cultural expectations, social and environmental stressors, professional challenges, and trauma—both past and present—shape the mental health and daily functioning of Bay Area natives and transplants. Lastly, I have completed additional training in sports psychiatry through the International Society of Sports Psychiatry and am invested in addressing the physical, emotional, and psychological impasses faced by professional, collegiate, and recreational athletes in all walks of life.
