I am a board-certified general adult psychiatrist providing psychotherapy and medication management services for adults ages eighteen and older.

My approach to care is psychodynamically-oriented, influenced by my training at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. That being said, I take an eclectic approach to my work, applying concepts from various therapeutic modalities. I believe that a deep understanding of one’s entire being and life experiences is necessary to promote healing. As human beings, we are more than just a diagnosis or illness, and understanding the various aspects of our past and present with a gentle curiosity allows us to address psychological suffering and create meaningful change.

About Me

My general areas of expertise include:

  • anxiety and depression

  • obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • trauma/complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

  • psychosomatic distress and illness anxiety

  • attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • intergenerational conflict and acculturation issues

  • relational conflict

  • new parenting stress

  • life transitions, failure to launch

  • medical student, resident, and physician mental health

  • education and work-related stress

  • physical, emotional, and psychological distress in exercise or athletic competition

Born and raised in Palo Alto, I’m especially attuned to how cultural expectations, social and environmental pressures, and trauma—both past and present—shape the mental health and daily functioning of Bay Area natives and transplants.
